I’m Beth, a clinical psychologist and Intuitive Eating Counsellor with a specialist interest in our relationship with food and body image.
I am also someone who knows what it’s like to live in a body that doesn’t always play by the rules. I have M.E. and POTS (I am just collecting all the letters at this point). This means I practice what I preach when it comes to body acceptance and trusting your body on the daily.
I use approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to support people who are ready to ditch diet culture, stop fighting themselves, and start doing what really matters in life.
Qualifications?
Yep, I’ve got those too:
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy)
- Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor
- further training in therapeutic approaches such as CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), CFT (compassion focussed therapy), and DBT (dialectical behaviour therapy)
- 18+ years of experience in NHS and private practice
When I'm not here helping you live a better life, I am usually snuggled up to my three dogs, drinking a chai latte, sewing, crocheting/knitting, or watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, LegoMasters, Friends or Big Bang Theory on repeat.
